Contractor and group accommodation in Darlington

One four-bedroom house in Darlington, built around working stays: three en suite doubles, four bathrooms, free parking that takes a van, and five minutes' walk to the station.

Grey sofas and a striped rug in the living room at Greenwell Street, Darlington

Darlington sits on the East Coast Main Line. Trains reach Newcastle in around half an hour and London King's Cross from about two hours twenty, and the town is next to the A1(M) at junctions 57, 58 and 59, with the A66 running east towards the Tees Valley. That position is why a lot of people arrive here for work rather than for a weekend.

Our house is a four-bedroom terrace in the South Park area, a five-minute walk from the station and around ten minutes from the town centre. It sleeps seven across three en suite doubles and a single, with four bathrooms in total. If you are booking for a crew, that is the detail that matters: nobody is waiting for the shower at six in the morning.

The town has a working hinterland. On the north-western edge, Faverdale Industrial Estate and the Faverdale East Business Park sit close to A1(M) junction 58 by the A68, with the Argos and Aldi distribution centres nearby. About two miles east of the town centre, off the A66, Lingfield Point has around 85 acres of business space, with occupiers including Capita, the Student Loans Company, Tata Consultancy Services and NFU Mutual. Amazon's robotic distribution centre at Symmetry Park is out by the A66 too, and Hitachi Rail's factory at Aycliffe Business Park is roughly seven miles away in Newton Aycliffe.

You book direct with us rather than through a booking site, and you deal with the team that runs the house. Arrivals are by lockbox from 3pm, so a late finish on site does not turn into a missed handover. Check-out is 11am. The lead guest will need photo ID, and the house is non-smoking and not a party house. Quiet hours are 10pm to 8am at every Amberwood home.

Four bedrooms, four bathrooms and space for seven, with free on-street parking that takes a van, five minutes from the station. Invoices are available on request.

Working weeks and longer jobs

Project teams on the road

The A1(M) junctions and the A66 put the Tees Valley, Durham and North Yorkshire within an easy drive, and the station means one of you can leave the van at the house.
