The space

Algernon Road sleeps nine in four bedrooms and six beds. It is built for a crew who need proper bedrooms, parking for the vans, and somewhere to sit with a laptop in the evening. Families and other groups use it too, when they want a whole house rather than several hotel rooms.

The large lounge has a brick fireplace and enough seating for a team to spread out. There is a dedicated workspace and fast WiFi, so you are not working off a phone hotspot. An iron is in the house. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a breakfast bar. There is no separate dining table, so meals happen at the bar or on laps in the lounge.

The family bathroom has a walk-in shower. Check-in is self-service by lockbox from 3pm, which suits crews arriving after a shift, and check-out is 11am. Invoices are available on request if the stay is being paid by a company.

Bedroom 1: two doubles

The largest room has two double beds. It is the room that makes the house work for a group of nine, and it is the one to allocate first when a team is sharing.

Bedroom 2: double

A double bedroom with natural light. A sensible room for a pair, or for the person who needs a proper night's sleep before an early start.

Bedroom 3: two singles

A twin room with two single beds. Useful for colleagues who are happy to share a room but want their own bed.

Bedroom 4: single

A single room with a clothes rail. Six beds across the four rooms, sleeping nine in total.

Location and what's nearby

The house is on Algernon Road in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, in the LE13 area. The town centre, pubs and the station are a 10 to 15 minute walk, so you can leave the van parked once you are in for the evening.

Twinlakes and Belvoir Castle are an easy drive if you have a day off. The private car park is behind the house. Vans are welcome and you do not need a permit.

Our other Melton house, on Doctor's Lane, is in the town centre and sleeps eight. If Algernon Road is booked, or you would rather walk to the pubs in a few minutes, look at that one too.
