The space

Doctor's Lane is a newly renovated house in the centre of Melton Mowbray. It has three bedrooms: two doubles and a twin. A sofa bed in the living space takes the total to eight guests, six of them in proper beds and two on the sofa bed. There is one family bathroom.

The kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher and oven, and there is a washing machine. A dining table gives you somewhere to eat that is not the sofa. The lounge has a Smart TV, wooden floors and a bookshelf, and there is a dedicated workspace with fast WiFi if someone needs to log on after a shift.

Arrivals are by lockbox from 3pm, so you are not waiting on a meeting. Check-out is 11am. The house suits contractors on shift, families, and groups who want to walk to the town rather than drive to it.

Main double

The main bedroom has a double bed. It is the quietest room to give to whoever needs the best night.

Second double

A second double bedroom, with a wardrobe. Two couples, or a family split across the doubles, both work.

Twin bedroom

Two single beds. With the two doubles, the bedrooms sleep six. The sofa bed brings the house to eight.

Sofa bed

The sofa bed is for the seventh and eighth guests. It is a real extra, not a substitute for the bedrooms, and it is worth knowing about before you book a group of eight.

Families

Two doubles, a twin and a sofa bed, in a newly renovated house. The town centre is a ten-minute walk, which keeps evenings simple.

Groups of up to eight

Eight is the maximum, and six of those are in bedrooms. If you are nine, look at Algernon Road instead. It sleeps nine and has a private car park.

Location and what's nearby

Doctor's Lane sits in Melton Mowbray town centre, in the LE13 area. Pubs, cafés and the pork pie shops are about a ten-minute walk. You can park for free on the street right outside, and that space takes cars and vans.

On a day off, Twinlakes, Belvoir Castle and Rutland Water are all an easy drive. You do not need the car for dinner. The town is close enough to walk.

Algernon Road, our other Melton house, is a 10 to 15 minute walk from the same town centre and sleeps nine, with a private car park behind the house. Choose Doctor's Lane if you want to be closer to the pubs and cafés.
